The Void

Deleted notes go to The Void, where they can be restored or permanently deleted, and from which they are emptied automatically after a time you choose.

Updated for iOS 1.65

The Void

Design Intent: Deleting should be fearless. The Void is where notes go first, and come back from.

Using it

  • Deleted notes go to The Void. Open it from the Orb menu's destination bar: a black, shimmering field, the same one the Mac shows, with "THE VOID" and how many lost souls it holds. Each row shows the note's first lines and when it was lost; the arrow brings it back to the stack ("Note restored") and takes you straight to it, The Void closing behind you; the × destroys it for good after "Delete from The Void?". Empty The Void clears everything after a confirmation, and Return closes it.
  • The Void empties itself after a while — 7, 30 or 90 days, or never.
  • Slotted notes never enter The Void: deleting a slot clears it.
