Locked notes
Lock a note behind Face ID. One unlock opens them all, they relock on a timer and on quit, and they stay out of search while locked.
Updated for iOS 1.65
Locked notes
Design Intent: Some notes are for your eyes only, even on an unlocked phone.
Locking and unlocking
- Orb menu › Lock. A locked note shows "This note is locked" with Unlock…, which asks for Face ID (or your passcode). Swiping a result in Search locks or unlocks it too.
- One unlock opens every locked note. They relock after the time you choose, and always when the app quits. Relock now locks them immediately.
- Locked notes are hidden from Search and widgets while locked. You can still swipe past them in the stack.
- To find one, unlock from Search: the Locked button in its bar (or typing
locked:) asks for Face ID and then includes locked notes in results for the period you choose — 1 minute to 1 hour, or until the app closes. When it ends they leave the results on their own, and Relock now ends it early. The Face ID you pass there is the same one unlock: it opens the notes too, on their usual relock timer, and locked notes are always searchable while they are unlocked. - Locked notes stay free after the trial on purpose: a note you locked must never become readable because a trial ended.
